I hope everyone has recovered from their session at horseshoe! I am definitely sore from doing it 3 days in a row.
My goal was to put you all outside of your comfort zone and I think I did that. Whether it was the walk up the cliffs, the attainment moves, boofing in your playboats, or surfing the wave everyone stepped up to the challenge and pushed yourself.
We had some swimmers which is fine. I always say that we are all in between swims, I reflect on this now as I am about to run the Green River Narrows for the first time! If you are not swimming you are not progressing and trying to learn new moves. Please don't get discouraged by it, everyone does it!
As for the homework this weekend you all are meeting Jen Sass at Anglers Inn at 9 and heading up to Md. and Va. chutes. I really want the focus here to be surfing the wave and rolling in the run off behind the wave. Also try to surf through the wave and to the eddy in river left, stern squirts in run off and off side rolls. Don't forget about your edges, they can be your best friend in the wave of your frenemy in the eddy lines!
If you are running late or show up early you can meet the group at the chutes!
After surfing at horseshoe Md. chute is going to look like flat water.
I hope you all have a good time and I will see you at the Gauley!
