DISTRICT II Presented at the National Building Museum Saturday, November 19, 2016 - Sunday, February 12, 2017 This poetic visual essay explores the changing streetscapes of downtown Washington in the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s through the urban street photography of Bill Barrett, Chris Earnshaw, and Joseph Mills. The works both reflect and confront each other, providing a sense of the physical and social upheavals experienced by the city in those decades.

Carnegie Library Update On September 22, Events DC, the property manager of the Carnegie Library, closed the building to the public because of mold. The Historical Society's offices have been temporarily relocated. Scheduled programming continues thanks to community partners. The staff is unable to provide reference assistance until further notice. |
