DPW Offers Additional Shredding Services, Sat., Feb. 18
Residents May Bring No More Than 5 Boxes of Documents
To Be Shredded
The DC Department of Public Works announced today that it is offering residents an additional day to bring their personal documents to be shredded at the Ft. Totten Transfer Station*, Saturday, February 18 between 8 am and 3 pm. DPW will accept no more than the equivalent of 5 boxes – 16.5”x12.5”x8.5”, the approximate size of a box of copy paper – of documents, such as bank statements, credit cards, and pay stubs for shredding from each resident.
DPW conducts a monthly personal document shredding event the first Saturday of each month, except holidays, as part of its household hazardous waste/e-cycling drop-off for residents only. No business or commercial documents will be accepted.
