Good Evening Commissioner,
I’m writing to invite you to a press conference tomorrow where Mayor Bowser and Chancellor Wilson will announce $6.2 million in new investments for middle and high school students. The Fiscal Year 2018 budget priorities continue DC Public Schools’ focus on equity and excellence for every student and align to the Mayor’s middle school, science, and technology priorities. Please see the details of the event below.

WHAT:
- Mayor Bowser and Chancellor Wilson will announce new DCPS investments for FY18. The budget priorities include:
- Investing in the middle school experience by increasing extracurricular offerings
- Expanding support for high school students by expanding college and career support
- Investing in overage, undercredited students by enhancing programming at Opportunity Academies
