Tomorrow, April 15th, is Tax Day and many of us will be marching, and hosting rallies, across the nation, asking President Trump to show us his tax returns.
This is also a good opportunity to remind the nation that the nearly 700,000 people that live in Washington DC pay more federal taxes, per capital, than the residents of any other state. In fact, at over $26 billion, DC pays more federal taxes than 22 other states, without voting representation in Congress. This is called: Taxation without representation.
Please join me, DCVOTE, and many others tomorrow for: “NO TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION” outreach effort.
We’ll be reaching out to participants in the Tax Day March to talk about the fact that DC residents pay federal taxes but have no voting representation in Congress.
