PBM Announces More Updates for Exploring Possibilities

Sports Program

Features Autograph Session, Gift Card Raffle and Media Workshop

 

What: Exploring Possibilities (EP) is a series of creative "career days", designed to expose young people ages 12-19 to appealing career paths and successful professionals.  PBM celebrates the world of sports and athletics with its first installment entitled: Its More Than Just A Game-Careers in Sports, Athletics and Recreation! The program features presenters who will speak about their career, as well as an special activity, giveaways, lunch and networking with panelists.

 

Who: The event is presented by Powerful Beyond Measure. EP will feature:

·         David Steele - Sports Journalist for Sporting News Magazine/The Baltimore Sun;

·         Darren Harper – Celebrity Skateboarder;

·         Lamar Carter – Asst. Director, Media Relations for Howard University;

·         Sigismond Nicolls – Ticketing Manager for Washington Nationals

·         Crystal Haislip – Soccer/Softball Coach for Special Olympics.

When: Saturday, September 28; 10am-3pm

 

Where: West End Library - 1101 24th Street NW, Washington, DC

 

Extras:

·         Darren Harper will be doing a special autograph session at the breakfast!

·         There will also be a VISA gift card giveaway – one for the youth attendee who brings the most friends!

·         Raffle of tickets the Howard University vs. Central football game

·         Giveaway items from TV One

·         VISA gift card giveaway for the youth that answers the most questions

·         Kids will be able to sign up for the CAPE League enrichment, arts and sports program

·         Interactive, media activity

 

How: The event is free to youth, with a $5 donation for adults. Attendees must RSVP by September 27^th, by 6pm.

 

Why: Exploring Possibilities has always provided a forum for professionals to share experiences and show teens that interesting careers are within the scope of reality. The series aims to counter the limited scope of options that youth may see, and open them to a myriad of occupations to pursue.
