Mayor Bowser to Announce New Initiatives and Enhanced Commitment to Middle Schools
(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Continuing the Pathways to the Middle Class Tour, Mayor Muriel Bowser will visit the new Brookland Middle School in Ward 5 on Tuesday to highlight and announce middle school and middle grade investments, including new summer school opportunities. Mayor Bowser, along with the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) Chancellor Kaya Henderson and other speakers, will discuss the efforts to improve middle schools for students, including expanded programs, international travel opportunities, and investments in extracurricular activities and athletics.
Tuesday's event is part of a week-long effort leading up to Mayor Bowser's March 31st State of the District Address to highlight ways the Administration is helping to create Pathways to the Middle Class for D.C. residents.
