You are invited to informational session May 14, 2015, to discuss the update to the National Flood Insurance Program and its Impact on D.C.
Are you a homeowner with questions about flood insurance? You may have read recently that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is updating the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) due to the passage of recent federal legislation.
The D.C. Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking will host two informational sessions with FEMA for District residents, community organizations, and insurance and housing communities on May 14 to review the changes in NFIP legislation and its impact on D.C. The sessions will cover issuing refunds, new insurance premiums and surcharges, restoration of grandfather rules, proposed changes to the flood insurance rate map, program savings and more. Richard Sobota, Senior Insurance Specialist, U.S. Department of Homeland Security/FEMA, Region III, will be our special guest speaker.

Waterfront Metro Station on the Green and Yellow Lines is the closest Metro station. Parking is available in a private garage. There is no complimentary parking.
