DC STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION SCHEDULES FIRST WORKING SESSION OF 2014


Washington, DC – The District of Columbia State Board of Education (DCSBOE) will hold a working session to review issues coming before the State Board. The following issues will be covered at this meeting:

 

  • Update on the need to review the current definition of "present" in the District's compulsory attendance rules;
  • Update on the upcoming ESEA flexibility waiver renewal request; and
  • Update on the search for an Ombudsman for Public Education.

 

The State Board will also close a portion of the meeting to receive counsel from its Attorney Advisor on upcoming legislative initiatives and to discuss personnel matters regarding State Board leadership in 2014.

 

The working session will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at 4:30pm at 441 4th Street NW, Room 1114.

 

While working sessions are open to the public, individuals and representatives of organizations are not permitted to speak or participate during the working session. However, individuals and representatives of organizations may submit written testimony for consideration by the Board. Written testimony may also be submitted by email at sboe@dc.gov.
