District of Columbia Public Schools will be open tomorrow, January 7. Roads are expected to be clear, as there is no precipitation in the forecast. Parents should dress their students appropriately to stay warm in the very cold temperatures on their way to and from school. All school buildings are ready to receive students tomorrow, including fully-functioning heat and school meals available for students.
School buildings will be open early at 8:00 a.m. to accommodate students who arrive early and principals will ensure students are allowed to wait inside until the day begins at 8:45, at most schools.
Parents, as always, have the option to keep their student at home, should they choose to do so. We look forward to beginning the second half of the 2013-2014 school year tomorrow.
