As part of our support for the Deputy Mayor for Education’s Advisory Committee on Student Assignment and School Boundaries, the 21st Century School Fund has been conducting a series of focus groups across the city.

The Advisory Committee is seeking additional input from residents of Wards 7 and 8.  We hope you would be willing to take part in a small, informal focus group next week.   This evening meeting is planned for either:

·         Wednesday, February 12

OR

·         Thursday, February 13

Location:

William Lockridge/Bellevue Library

115 Atlantic St. SW

Washington, DC  20032

Meeting Room A

7:00-8:30 p.m.

Please respond by e-mail, or call to let me know which date best suits your schedule.  We hope to follow up with you by phone, so please leave your number if that is agreeable.

Summary information from these small discussions will help inform the principles the Committee will use to develop school assignment scenarios for further public discussion. Summary notes from this session will appear on the DME’s web site but no participants will be identified.  After community Working Groups in April and city-wide meetings in May and June, the Committee’s recommendations go to the Deputy Mayor for Education late this summer.

Thank you for your consideration, we hope you can be part of this discussion.  Please call with any questions.
