ABOUT THE EVENTS
The DC Trust cordially invites you to join us for a community-based meeting to build the DC Boys and Men of Color Initiative citywide strategy. The Trust was designated by Mayor Vincent C. Gray to lead the effort to develop the city's boys and men of color strategy to support improved outcomes for youth in the District of Columbia. This effort is part of the broader My Brother's Keeper Community Challenge, issued by President Obama, to encourage communities to implement a coherent cradle-to-college and career strategy aimed at improving life outcomes to ensure that all youth can achieve their full potential, regardless of who they are, where they come from, or the circumstances in which they are born. Join us to contribute your thoughts and recommendations for improving outcomes for boys and men of color in the areas of Education, Employment, Health and Justice through policy advocacy, systems reform and effective programs and services. The goal of this comprehensive strategy is to uncover opportunities for success in the lives of boys and young men of color, so they can in turn, be more active participants in the building of success in their own communities, cities throughout this country and beyond.
