Who should attend: Open to those sharing in the desire to revitalize New York Avenue Gateway and vicinity in Northeast Washington through development, policies, action, and strategies and who want to create a family/age friendly, economic and culturally diverse, balanced corridor

o   Gateway Landmark Structure (s) and Signage
o   Streetscape/Public and Playable Art
o   Walkway of Hope and Fame
    (A public space with sculptures and bricks/tiles and a wall with names of activists and other District leaders that contributed the District)          
 
ü  Mixed Income Housing (Detached and semi detached homes, multigenerational)
 
ü  Branding and Marketing
o   Branding Of Corridor:  Creative S.T.E.A.M.
o   Events and Activities
 
ü  Businesses and Attractions
o   Restaurants:  Casual and Fine Dining
o   Creative Economy: Movie/TV/Sound Studio, "IdeaPlex"
o   Family Friendly Pursuits:  National Children's Museum
o   Small Business Development
 
ü  Transportation Committee
o   Metro Stations (1) near Ft. Lincoln and (2) near National Arboretum onward to suburbs
     (Build coalition of businesses, residents, stakeholder advocates)

o   Traffic Control, Pedestrian and Safety, Bike Lanes
 
Note: Meetings are not expected to exceed 90 minutes so agendas may move quickly to ensure action items 
 
The Greater New York Avenue Gateway Corridor is bounded by District of Columbia/Prince George's County border, Eastern Avenue to Rhode Island Avenue (Route 1) to Third Street, N.E.  Third Street to R Street, N.E. to North Capitol Street.  North Capitol Street to M Street, N.E. to Florida Avenue to H Street, N.E. (Starburst Intersection Plaza) to Benning Road.  Benning Road to Anacostia River (under Benning Road) back to the District/Prince George's border.  New York Avenue (US 50/Alt1) in the Corridor goes from the District border to North Capitol Street.
Key Streets include: New York, South Dakota, West Virginia, Florida, and Montana Avenues and Bladensburg Road

Additionally, GNYAGG's mission is to provide leadership, work collaboratively with groups, and engage stakeholders to:
  • Build, connect, strengthen, and revitalize communities
  • Attract and retain businesses
  • Foster a creative economy (e.g., culinary arts, fashion design, media/sound production, software development, home design)
  • Improve transportation, infrastructure, and streetscape (including public and playable art and a landmark gateway structure)
  • Inform, educate, and represent the interests of local residents, businesses
  • Expand economic and job opportunities
  • Generate regional, national, and global appeal for dynamic Gateway Corridor.
