Hi Tom/Ashley sorry to miss the first workout. I have about 5 inches of snow to shovel in driveway which will take me at least an hour. See you on Saturday. Thanks, Carlos

Hello Cheat Paddlers,--Congrats to all who survived the first workout! We didn't have much time to spend out there last night, but most made it up to the ice dam, and still had time to race back. The fog sure closed in on us right at 6 PM. At least we got a little taste of Cheat Training.Just remember every time you come out and work hard, it will feel a little easier the next time. Then in a few weeks, if you have not missed any workouts, you will find yourself ready to try the Cheat River.Last year we had 51 LAKS paddlers (out of about 140 total) entering the race, a number which tells us that we had a very successful season. It will be good if this year you can handle the Cheat in the race. But to get there, you have to go one step at a time.Who knows what this Saturday will be like? The forecast is calling for 6.5 ft. level in the Potomac and a chilly 43 degrees air temp. We will let you know later whether we can begin at Sandy Beach.See you Saturday....
