I personally attended the meeting at Bethesda Baptist last night. Ms. Norouze ran a well oiled and professional experience the panel discussion and the presenters were very, very encouraging. We could all learn from Empower DC that help structure and implement. We attended with Dr. David Schwartzman, Planetary Scientis and Prof. Emeiritus from Howard Univ. he is also Green Party Candidate for (shadow) Senator. I plan to attend the hearing and as Rob said ... we should all attend in solidarity. The Mayor and Council should learn that they simply cannot have their way with us. We noted that there should have been Amicus Brief's filed in support of the Ivy City Citizens Assoc. We all need to band together!

Hello Everyone,
This would be a great thing to support. We are not against everything but we should be able to have a say and not have things shoved down our throat. Our entire city should be able to share in hosting things that impacts them. Govt. should be willing to work with the community in a respectful manner so that they are able to represent us properly. After all, they get elected to do just that and not to utilize those positions to benefit self and/or their friends.
Maybe with a good showing here, we can encourage our Mayor to have his task force on the Street Car Funding to see if we can prioritize other items that we need to locate money for. Let's clean up our houses (our youth, our young adults, our seniors, our housing waitlist, our personal, businesses and govt allignment, etc). Let's raise money for those things. I am sure that we can all use funds to do just that so that life can be much less stressful. Let's us show that type of City.
With a little mobilization, the system can be tweaked to run very respectful and efficient.
