| We are inspecting all DCPS schools and plan to open all schools and administrative sites tomorrow, Wednesday, October 31st. The vast majority of DCPS schools have reported they are ready to open with little or no damage from Hurricane Sandy.
Where schools have reported minor leaks, flooding, power outages or down trees, we are working with the Department of General Services (DGS) and PEPCO to ensure those schools are ready to open. In the event that a particular school is not able to open tomorrow, we will announce that closing to the media and on our website, Facebook and Twitter. We have asked our custodians to report at 6:00 a.m. tomorrow as an additional check on readiness in the event we get additional rain or experience other issues as a result of this historic weather event. All DCPS staff is expected to report to work according to their regular schedules. | | | District of Columbia Public Schools | 1200 First Street, NE, Washington, DC 20002 | (202) 442-5885 | dcps.dc.gov Notice of Non-Discrimination | |
