[WardFive] Prayer For Going Through the Storm

This prayer was written from a spiritual perspective, however, it is hoped that all that read understand the spirit of intent and will share their prayers and blessings for our great city from their own source of faith, or their own thoughts on this matter for those who choose not to have a religion, for you are also a resident(s) of our city.

Father Mother God:

As we await to go though your Divinely made experience of a magnitude we are told we have not experienced in our lifetimes, and of which we acknowledge have no control over, we pray for the safety of our families, relatives, friends and neighbors as we call forth Your Divine peace that surpasses all understanding to be alive from within all DC residents.  Then as the light of day returns, may we draw on our faith and love of mankind to provide support to each other, especially our neighbors in need.

We pray for our Mayor and staff, Council Chairman, Council Members and staff, Agency Directors, MPD and their management staff of all essential services agencies along with all involved loyal, caring supporting employees/officers who are in the field for all their safety, strength and decision making during this important lesson in life that affects so many people.

We pray for the utility companies for whom so many are dependent, that your provide wisdom in decision making for their leadership along with protection from harm, strength, and wisdom for their employees and the thousands of support crews who have chosen to come to DC to assist in the restoration process.

You said you have given us dominion over all things, so we declare and believe that the trees you divinely gave to us to provide the air we breathe, also exhibit their natural ability to bend and not break as the winds blow, with the same ability shown by the poles that hold up the divine given ideas to harness, direct and control the electricity we need, along with the ability to communicate through electronic sources that also flow through the cables and wiring above.

As stated in the Bible, "Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven." (New American Standard Bible).  May this experience also bring us closer together as neighbors, as communities and as a city.

We declare and accept this truth, and so it is.  Amen and Amen.

Albrette "Gigi" Ransom
