DC DMV Opening Rhode Island Service Center on March 19, 2013

Temporary C Street Service Center Closing

(WASHINGTON, DC) – On Tuesday, March 19, 2013, the District of Columbia Department of Motor Vehicles (DC DMV) will open its Rhode Island Avenue Center in Northeast. Located in Rhode Island Row at 2350 Washington Place, NE, Suite 112N, the service center will be open for business Tuesday – Saturday from 8:15am – 4pm.

"We are excited to open this new, state-of-the-art service center," said DC DMV Director Lucinda Babers. "This is a full service facility and customers will be provided with the same services that they currently receive at our Penn Branch and Southwest Service Centers."

Mayor Vincent C. Gray and Director Babers will cut the ribbon on the Rhode Island Service Center at a date to be announced prior to the public opening.

The Rhode Island Service Center is nearby for metro riders from the Rhode Island Avenue Metro Station. There is also metro, garage, and street parking in the surrounding area. This location is also accessible for cyclists and pedestrians.

With the opening of the Rhode Island Avenue Service Center, the Temporary C Street Service Center located at 301 C Street, NW will close on Friday, March 8. Adjudication Services, which is in the same building as the Temporary C Street Service Center, will remain open.

DC DMV encourages customers who are required to conduct their transactions in-person to prepare for their visit by reviewing pertinent information on the agency's website at dmv.dc.gov. Additionally, many customers can "Skip the Trip" by conducting their DC DMV business online or through the mail. The agency offers more than 40 Internet and mail services, enabling customers to complete DC DMV transactions at their convenience and outside of the agency's regular business hours.
