Hello folks,

 

Our legal strategy is moving forward and will have details to share very soon, in an effort to raise funds, support and momentum for this work we have several events coming up in which you can participate:

 

  • Thursday March 14th – Save Our Schools Summit – 6:30-8:30pm – Temple of Praise (700 Southern Avenue, SE) – Join us for an information session and rally building support for our Lawsuit to stop the planned closure of 15 DC Public Schools impacting over 2,700 students of color.  We will be introducing our plaintiffs from the impacted schools, introducing our legal team, reviewing the legal strategy and building general support for these efforts.  Flyer is attached, please share and distribute widely.  To RSVP for this event please contact me Daniel at 202-234-9119 xt. 104 or via email. 

 

  • Friday March 22nd – An Evening for Education Justice – 5:30-8:30pm – The Park on Fourteenth (920 14th Street, NW) – We are having this fundraiser to support our lawsuit to STOP school closures in our city.  There will be musical guests (Ayanna Gregory, B Steady, DJ Soyo).  You can purchase tickets for the event ($20) by going to: http://educationjusticeevent.eventbrite.com/ Or, to make a donation go to: http://do.nr/bIr  (flyer is attached please share and distribute)

 

 

Additionally, please note the following event about School Closures in our city hosted by the Black is Back Coalition, Empower DC Executive Director Parisa Norouzi will be on the panel.  This event will take place Thursday, November 28 – 7pm – at Howard University (Blackburn Center Digital Auditorium)
