Hello Jeff,
I am here. Just trying to pull my feet out of Disgusted, Dissappointed, Hopeless world where our "leaders" tell us that they are "including the Community". They should just get up in the morning have a meeting amongst themselves and their friends email themselves and go cash their Campaign/Constituent Fund donation/purchase Checks and stop wasting our time asking for participation.
If you were awakened last night from a loud noise, it was just me as I fell out of bed when I heard Tommy Wells speaking about not having "behind the door" conversations about contracts, etc. during the Vote to snatch Jim Grahams Alcohol Oversight. It is was too much to actually see Tommy's "angelic wings" fluttering against his Chair as he attempted to walk on Water.

Good Evening,So, after going through the Brookland "Small Area Plan" abuse, and the fact that during the 901 Monroe hearing, a Zoning Commissioner admonished Office of Planning for having a restrictive SAP, what's the use of having a SAP discussion with the Community -- other than it is just procedural!! It has to be a FACADE that they are fooling us with!! OP (4 times) tried and still failed to justify the 901 Monroe project was justified. Their actions were abusive and ultimately disregarded what took about 3 years of discussion and planning with the Brookland Community. It is is indicative of the same type of Abusive behavior that DCPS has shown towards the Community. So I hope that folks take time to understand how loosely these documents are made that will allow Zoning to do whatever they want to and probably are told to by the Powers at Hand!!In closing, I like Deborah Crain-Kemp very much so I hope folks understand that she is doing her job like many of the other folks in the District Govt. whose boss dictates what they do and they just follow orders. Life is what it is -- I hope those folks figure out how to convert their "$$$$" so that they can spend it where ever they end up -- Heaven or elsewhere!!Rob Ramson

Listserv Folks
Out of curiosity, how many communities in Ward 5 have Small Area Plans? Is there supposed to be one for every cluster of communities?

At last night`s Bloomingdale Civic Association meeting, Ward 5 Planner Deborah Crain-Kemp distributed copies of the Small Area Plan titled ``Mid North Capitol and Florida Avenue Plan.`` The Small Area Plan includes the following neighborhoods: part of Sursum Corda in Ward 6, LeDroit Park in Ward 1, and Bates-Hanover, Truxton Circle, Bloomingdale and Eckington in Ward 5.
I have posted the single-page two-sided info sheet at the Bloomingdale Neighborhood blog:http://bloomingdaleneighborhood.blogspot.com/2013/01/bloomingdale-now-included-in-dc-office.html .
You can see the map, the goals, the scope and the high-level timeline. There appears to be an aggressive timeline, with a draft final plan report in December 2013 and DC Council approval set for May 2014.--
