Just want to remind you that the Great Falls Race is this coming Saturday starting at 11 am! The best viewing spot will probably be Great Falls, VA if you are not out on the Flake. If you are watching from the VA side, it would be great to have you wear your helmet and PFD (and LAKS shirt?). The park service is letting us sit on the shoreline but wants to keep people 6 ft from the edge. You, looking official in your gear, could certainly help out with disseminating that message and keeping spectators safe.
If you want to do more, we could use a couple more volunteers: someone to help with registration on the MD side (this means you wont be able to see the race very well), some in-boat safety (you should be a Falls runner who is not racing) and help at the party Saturday evening (Vicki Capone vicki@vickicapone.com is organizing party volunteers)
I will send out another email when the line has been determined for sure. There is a community party and awards event afterwards at Jason and Patricia Beakes' house 15205 Montevideo Road, Poolesville, MD 20837 - 7:00pm Cost is $20 or $40 with camping.
