Subject: Re: [ward5] Might as well use the "N" word!
Aaron - maybe I can be more plain --- it seems like unless the "N" word is used, so many White people refuse to realize that the situation was racist, racially motivated, racially anchored to something that resides in the head of almost all European American - something that has been drilled into their subsconcious from birth. Some are able to be as fair as possible and have been helpful to the movement towards equality for Blacks (all non- Whites).
Eg. As great friends and fair people that Mr. Peloquin and Eric are, I sometimes explain things to them. The wonderful appreaciation that they have for fairness shows in their immediate understanding when I identify things that they instantly get it - and that is one of the reasons that I appreciate their friendship!!
And no Tony, I am not at all surprised. I was just still hoping to chip away at the denial crust of Whites regarding Racism.
Rob Ramson
I am not understanding your point but racism is every where but you do not have to use the N word.
These is only due to Paula Deen use of the N word but note this I respect her over individuals who smile in your face and then call you all types of name behind your back

Good Afternoon,I just wanted to share -- imagine the comments about Serena. This comment has been deletedMtnOzark123 5pts 4 hours ago@Italian_Stallion70 What? "her talent wasn't quite as good as Serena", you got that right. Seles had WAY more talent than Serena. A much better return of serve, a much better back hand, and certainly more of a killer instinct. She was stabbed at age 19, if that would not have happened she would have been the greatest ever, she had already won 8 slams and was ranked number 1 for nearly 2 years when the tragedy happened. How many slams did Serena win by age 19???LikeReply

tafnut 5pts 19 hours agoFor all the upsets, in the men's draw, the #1, 2, 4 and 7 seeds are still in it. The women's draw is a little different, with only #4, 6 and 8 left out of the Top 10. Although it barely got mentioned, #6 Li crushed #11 Vinci, 2 and love.LikeReply

Well you know how the mainstream media would love to have Sharapova as the face of Woman's Tennis but unfortunately for them she's just another above average player. I just hope Sabine Lisicki isn't a "one and done" type player with her win over Serena being the highlight of her career.

Did you even listen to the post game interview? Serena gave Sabine major props for beating her and not once during the interview did she make an excuse for getting beat. To not like Serena is one thing but to post idiotic comments on something that's not true, make you "classless" and your whole post irrelevant.

It is obvious that Serena is using performance enhancing drugs which is why it is so good to see her lose.

"Most of Time' ...different winners dominate on certain Courts. It has always been a 'given fact'. It's rare that Winners to breeze to victories on both events....Sarenna "has indeed achieved it in the past".. So obviously the Expectation was for Victory to happen this time...However, to say sarenna was bothered by any distractions culminating from a Media bickering between her and one of her rivals, Maria Sharapova....could be a 'Strategy' that the Sharapova camp wanted to 'test'. Luckily for them....it worked....so the Tennis Queen is gone, or as some in Sharapova camp would say...'the __itch is' gone (fill in the blank...depending how Vulgar "Sharapovites" are). SARENNA is still queen in My Book!!! HowAboutDat 5pts 19 hours ago@bigmlbfan You, Sir, are a liar and a mean one at that. If you think that you need to lie about something like that, it means that you know that the truth would not help your cause. It has now become ABUNDANTLY clear to me that you just hate Serena; and I'll guess that the reason is because of her race. I'll admit that it makes me sad that in the 21st Century black people still have to deal with such nastiness. When will the rest of the world become civilized enough to treat us with even a modicum of respect?1LikeReply
tafnut 5pts 19 hours ago@HowAboutDat @bigmlbfan That quote was in the above article, or didn't you bother to read the article? But I agree with you - anyone who dislikes Serena must be a bigot. I mean, what other possible reason could there be for not being a fan of such a wonderful, classy athlete?LikeReply
HowAboutDat 5pts 19 hours ago@tafnut I did bother to read the article, Sir/Madam but what's more I listened to the live interview. The bigbmlbfan showed his/her utter disregard for reality/fairness when he/she chos to ignore the fact that what was expressed in the article could never be all that was said by Ms Williams. I admit that the writer of the article had his own agenda - mainly to incite comments like bigmlbfan's - but I sincerely believe that even if he/she had put everything that Serena had said into the article, the fanatic would have found something negative to say anyway. For the record: Serena heaped - as she should have - praises on Sabine. Ms. Williams said that she knew coming in that Sabine is a "good grass court player" and a "great player" in general and "always a threat, especially on grass" and that she would be "difficult to beat on her best surface (grass)."1LikeReply
tafnut 5pts 18 hours ago@HowAboutDat @tafnut If Serena's post-match interview was what you say it was, and I do not dispute that, then good for her. However, I do resent when posters on these threads play the race card. I am not a fan of Serena. Obviously, I do not know her personally, but it is her on-court behavior, and various and numerous comments I have witnessed over the years that make me dislike her. For the record, I am not a much of a Sharapova fan. And, as I posted elsewhere in this thread, I like the underdogs.LikeReply
steagles67 5pts 19 hours ago@HowAboutDat @bigmlbfan Serena never says anything good about her opponent. She was outplayed today. If you make Serena move around and get her to three sets, she can be beat.LikeReply
HowAboutDat 5pts 19 hours agoIt's ironic that (after Serena had dropped the first set and had come back to win in three) one of your co-haters had said that Serena needs to have three sets in order for the PEDS to kick in. Interesting how the story varies in order to suit what ever purpose you haters want the "truth" to be.
