This morning I was kicked, punched, pushed, pulled, yelled at, and cursed out.
However, I was not assaulted on the streets of Washington, DC. Why? I was
assaulted because as a retired veteran I defended President Barack Obama at a
Republican / Tea Party led and supported anti-President Obama veteran rally at
the WWII Memorial. I dared to challenge former Governor Sarah Palin and Senator
Ted Cruz R-TX)and other veterans for blaming the closing of the federal
government, to include America's national memorials and parks on President
Obama.

Despite the verbal and physical assaults, I "stood my ground" and spoke the
truth the closing of the federal government rests squarely on the Republican
Party/Tea Party, and House Speaker John Boehner.

It is clear Ms. Palin, Senator Cruz, and the Republican/Tea Party do not believe
in freedom of speech rights for all AMERICANS or for all VETERANS.
