School Safety and Emergency Preparedness Public Roundtable

I would like to invite parents, teachers and community members interested in safety at our schools to attend and testify at the Committee on Education's Public Oversight Roundtable on Tuesday, October 22, 2013. The purpose of the public oversight roundtable is to hear from members of the public and District education officials on the state of school safety and emergency preparedness in the District of Columbia.

 

WHEN: 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 22, 2013

WHERE: Room 123 of the John A. Wilson Building.

TESTIFY: Members of the public wishing to testify should contact Jamaal Jordan at 202-724-8061 or jjordan@dccouncil.us no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, October 20, 2013.

 

School Safety Report – At the beginning of each school year DC Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) releases a "School Safety Report" for protecting children walking to and from District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) and Public Charter Schools (DCPCS) and for protecting children from gang and crew violence on, in, and around DCPS and public charter school property.
