Our annual free event, postponed when the government closed, has been rescheduled! If you registered, there's no need to reregister. If you haven't, you can do so anytime at TeachersNight.org.

Be among the first to visit Q?rius, Natural History's new 10,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art education space that's part lab, part collections vault, part DIY garage, and all fun. where teens and tweens can immerse themselves in experiences that enhance their natural history literacy through authentic science! Smithsonian educators from all of the museums and research centers will also be on hand to tell you about professional development opportunities and classroom resources. You'll find out about new digital programs such as connected classrooms, interactive video conferences, digital badging, distance learning programs, and education "apps" too.

As always, there will be refreshments, door prizes, exhibition tours, and free classroom materials from across the Smithsonian. Special activities will include "Today I Am Here," in which you can make a storybook from scratch, and "Genome Zone," in which you can examine your own genetic traits. In a special demonstration, you can learn how to access thousands of primary source documents, lesson plans, historic timelines, and other tools for teachers from the U.S. State Department.

Screenings in the Johnson IMAX Theater will be free as well. Now showing are Flight of the Butterflies, Ultimate Wave Tahiti, and the new Titans of the Ice Age, all in 3D.

Spread the word! Please forward this email to other educators!
