Hello Jared,
Really simple.
1. Like Commissioner Bradley stated, maybe you should read the bills. It is probably some Restriction on Women regarding abortions and some Anti-Gay, Anti-immigration laws that they are cloaking under a "Jobs Bill". If you think fruits and vegetables are expensive now, let them pass some more strict immigration laws. Hispanic is the modern day slave in those fields. Also, don't let me catch you at Home Depot picking up a Hispanic to help you with some work if you have a house!!!
2. So you get this - this Economy is definitely not President Obama's fault. He is cleaning up an "Oil spill" and that costs money. Imagine if he didn't spend the money that he did. Think about something simple as crime rate. Remember TRADING PLACES with Eddie Murphy!! Crime is not only limited to underprivileged as without jobs, some "middle class" folks becomes underprivileged as well as soon as their unemployment runs out and can't find jobs.
3. So you get the unemployment stats - In January 2009 when President Obama took office, the unemployment rate was 7.8 and by October 2009 it was 10.0% and the stimulus Money had not even hit the streets yet. So, I hope that you weren't blaming him for this. If you haven't read the Digest on your iPhone, the unemployment rate as of July 2012 is 8.3 I think that is heading in the right direction. What do you think?
4. So you don't miss it, the Unemployment rate in 2009 was ----- Feb 8.3%, Mar 8.7%, Apr 8.9%, May 9.4%, Jun 9.5%, Jul 9%, Aug 9.6%, Sept, 9.8% and Oct 10.0% -- ALL BY BUREAU OF LABOR STATISTICS DATA.
Here are some more thoughts -
5. As soon as Bush came into office, we went to War - and a Contract went to a Company for Billions that the VP use to Manage?? REALLY!!! How many of our Soldiers died on this Wrong War that has caused us how much???? We could have sent in our folks and silently killed all those same leaders that they took trillions to do. In addition, we are so advanced in technology that it is sick - why risk the lives of our family and friends.
6. You better go check how Romney made his money. Let's not focus on only Staples. There were lots of other "deals" done. See how many people loss jobs. (Mr. Peloquin, you can jump in here if you want).
7. I don't believe that Romney's "blind trust" doesn't have to be hidden in a Swiss Bank account to invest in money overseas like he said. I believe that that money can be invested from an account that is not hidden.
8. When interviewed with his wife, he and she acts like they don't have housekeepers just to BS the public that they are like the Average American. And boasted that they like to do the cleaning themselves with Mitt ironing his shirt that day. The fact is that that day they didn't have any help there because they probably didn't want them to be interviewed and them say the wrong thing on accident. It is not even possible that they don't have housekeepers.
9. There was a Commercial that Romney's folks ran on TV that stated that "under President Obama, the unemployment rate has risen above 8%. Sounds like the truth got twisted - just a little to continue to scare the public. Translated before you miss the point, even though the it is a steak on the plate, it's not cooked. However, still a steak. Cooked - the commercial should have properly represented that Unemployment is Dropping under the Obama Presidential Term from where Bush left it at a peak of 10%%% - unless you want to blame the first 10 months on Obama. It probably would have been worse had a Republican Won in 2008 - it might have got to 12%%
Reading #7 and #8, imagine how stupid they really feel the public is. Imagine how stupid the people are who actually believe that!!!! Maybe you like raw meat.
10. If this economy (Obama's) is not producing jobs, why do you think that unemployment has been dropping from 10.0% back in Oct. 2009 which was definitely not because of OBAMA?
11. Anyone can say that they will produce jobs - doesn't mean that he actually can. If it was true and I was Romney, I would definitely be selling that Bridge by showing HOW!! The fact is that he can't do anything better than President Obama currently is in that department. I don't know what you do, but I doubt that you know more about business than Warren Buffett and others like him that Obama has advising him.
Let me close with this, both Republicans and Democrats are flawed. However, so you are Republican and like Romney, that's OK. We already knew that - its is not news. However, you don't have to sell us on Romney because, we can hear, see, smell, feel, and definitely READ for ourselves - we don't need guidance from folks who definitely don't have our best interest at heart. And next time you write to me using big words, please use them properly as your last email not only exposed your anger that was simmering under your initial post asking about "cross posting". See, it only took one calm jab to get you to show your true feelings - anger. Can't stand the truth, press delete.

Republicans refused to allow a vote on the President's jobs bill (Yet, they voted 33 times to try to repeal the Affordable Healthcare Act). The GOP held the country hostage and now wants to blame the President. This isn't even a good trick.

Come on man. You could've saved some time copy and pasting and just sent me the link. http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/magazine/march_april_2012/features/obamas_top_50_accomplishments035755.php?page=1
I guess I could copy and paste Romney's record (written by a conservative columnist) as well and tout them as accomplishments.
In all of those 50 accomplishments, I don't see "jobs" mentioned once. If the president is proud of his record, why isn't he running on it? He can't, his promise gap has only expanded ... unemployment, the deficit, and health care to name a few.
That flip-flop attack on Romney is tired, old and stale. If Romney is the Jordan of flip-flops, Obama is Pippen.
I guess the only thing this President can run on is running from his last four years.

You know what Jared, I'm so tired of hearing that Tea Party lie, "no record to run on", I thought I'd do the research and share with you a few facts. The following is a partial list of the accomplishments of President Obama's administration. Keep in mind that is only a partial list, representing 20 percent or less of the total accomplishments of the first 3 years from 2009 through 2011, all of which time the President had to deal with a Senate which engaged in more fillibustering than any Senate in recent history and, since January 2011, a House of Representatives that has been aptly dubbed the "do-nothing Congress" because of its determination to vote against even those measures which would benefit the constituents of its members just to prevent the President from achieving any success. Here's the list of 50 of the accomplishments of President Obama through 2011:1. Passed health care reform (the Affordable Health Care Act of 2010), providing health care coverage to 32 Million uninsured Americans while preventing insurance companies from denying coverage to persons with pre-existing conditions or dropping dependent children off of their parents policies prior to age 26.2. Passed the Economic Stimulus package (2009), preventing the worst recession since the 1930's from spiraling down into the second Great Depression.3. Passed Wall Street reform (2010).4. Improved America's public image abroad (in 10 of 15 countries surveyed in independent research).14. Expanded Pell Grant spending, by-passing private banks and allowing students to borrow directly from the federal government (2010).15. Created "Race to the Top" which provided $4 1/2 Billion in grants to reward states for enacting education reforms.16. Raised fuel efficiency standards.17. Led in the co-ordination of the international response to the financial crisis (2009-2010).18. Passed mini-stimulus measures to help families by extending unemployment insurance and cutting payroll taxes (2010-2011).19. Re-oriented American military and diplomatic priorities from the Middle-East and Europe to the Asia-Pacific region in support of countries threatened by emerging Chinese military and economic dominance (2011).20. Increased support for veterans with more money for medical care and tax credits for businesses that hire veterans (2010-2011).21. Tightened sanctions to deter Iran's nuclear ambitions (2010-2012).22. Began closing the dirtiest power plants (2011).23. Passed credit card reform measures (2009).24. Expanded the right of women to sue employers for wage discrimination (2009).25. Prevented further right-wing shift on the Supreme Court and increased the voice of women by securing the confirmations of Justices Sonia Sotomayor (2009) and Elena Kagan (2010) to replace the retiring Justices David Souter and John Paul Stevens, respectively.26. Signed the FDA Food Safefy Modernization Act of 2011.27. Achieved a new START treaty with Russia (2011).28. Expanded wilderness and watershed protections by signing the Omnibus Public Lands Management Act of 2009.30. Signed the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act of 2009, giving the FDA the power to regulate tobacco.31. Issued and executive order requiring federal agencies to make plans to soften their environmental impact by 2020.32. Passed the Fair Sentencing Act of 2010, reducing the disparity between sentences for crack versus power cocaine possession.33. Trimmed the cost of and re-oriented the missle defense system (i.e., the Reagan-era "Star Wars" Program) (2010).34. Reduced wasteful military spending by $450 Billion (2011).35. Shifted the focus of the space program, reducing costs by cutting wasteful programs while enhancing research on new rocket technologies for long-distance manned missions and interplanetary unmanned missions (2011).36. Invested $90 Billion in renewable energy technologies (2009).37. Dedicated $330 Million of the stimulus money to states and universities to create new K-12 student performance tests.38. Promulgated new Department of Education regulations to fight predatory lending practices of some for-profit colleges (2011).39. Signed the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010, raising nutrition standards for school children.40. Reauthorized stem cell research put on hold during the Bush years (2009).48. Released funding for the $4.6 Billion settlement between the Department of Agriculture and African-American and Native-American farmers to compensate the farmers for decades of blatant discrimination in lending practices by USDA officials.49. Helped lead negotiations resulting in the independence of South Sudan in 2011.50. Saved $4 Billion by halting production of the wasteful F-22 fighter plane (2009).Jared, my friend, once again, this is just a partial list. So while you might not like President Obama's accomplishments, you can't say he has no record to run on and be taken seriously.Oh, and by the way, thanks for the video clip. It's refreshing to hear a politician, like President Obama, whose words are consistent and who doesn't flip flop with the wind, changing his position to meet the expediencies of the moment. And since you were so kind as to share your video clip, I thought I'd reciprocate. Enjoy:Awaiting your reply.Bradley A. Eric, are you serious? The leadership of the Republican Parry isn't the Tea Party? Wake up and smell the tea. I have a six word response to that statement: "Republican Vice Presidential Nominee Paul Ryan." If the Tea Party isn't leading the GOP, why is Mitt Romney campaigning against the same health care plan he advocated for and put in place in Massachusetts when he was Governor? The Tea Party movement, more so than a cadre of card carrying members, represents a philosophy that is driving the National Republican Party further and further to the right. My point is that this is not the time to promote cynicism. I've been around long enough to see what happens when cynicism prevails on the political scene. I don't want to see it again. Malcolm died on February 21, 1965, 47 1/2 years ago. Though not for the lack of the efforts of many well meaning soldiers in the struggle, we're still waiting for the people to rise up and create their own program. If you believe it's going to happen within the next two months, in time for the November election, I have a bridge to sell you in Brooklyn.Once again, there is a clear and critical choice in this election. Let's not blow it by taking our proverbial ball and going (or more aptly put, staying) home.Bradley A. ThomasCheck out the "One City Action Plan"

Well let me see if I can shed a little more light on the situation. First off the leadership of the Republican Party isn't the Tea Party, please stop using DNC talking points to make a case. That sounds no different than the dozen or so emails I get from the party on a daily basis.
Now to the parties their selves. Both parties have decided to go to their respective corners. The Republicans to the Right and the Democrats to the Left. Must I remind you that it was our party (the Democratic Party) that just two years ago was sending out stuff saying its time to choke the Blue Dogs and cut off their air. This was the progressive arm of our party advocating for cutting off a long serving part of our party. It was our party that tucked and ran on folks (blue dogs) such as Sanford Bishop (D) of Georgia who watched the party pull out of his race and give up on him then try to be friendly to him after he was able to still win. The fact of the matter is that currently both parties are pandering to voting blocs instead of trying to reach the overwhelming majority of people. To see this we will look briefly at the advertising and campaign literature we are seeing.
On the Republican Side - they are talking about issues such as Medicare reform trying to get folks who are from the smaller government movement engaged. Additionally they are talking about the welfare to work programs which have been changed and talking taxes which under the current proposal will have a negative impact on many small to medium size family owned businesses because of how they are incorporated.
Now to the Democrats - they are not talking about everyone but those voting blocs as well which they feel are important and needed in battle ground states. They keep on talking about abortion which is now only a women's issue when our own party actually used to talk about it as a family issue just a little more than a decade ago. Likewise they are talking about Medicare and using the same stories of omissions that the republicans are to scare folks while not talking about the fact that neither parties plan will extend the program long enough for me to receive anything from it even though I still have to pay into it out of every pay check.
You see our politics have become sad and it is scary in more ways than one. Both parties are clearly showing folks that they are mainly going after certain bases right now just over two months out and telling others that they know how they are going to vote so they aren't going to address them or deal with their concerns.
You quoted El Haj Malik El Shabazz but I would encourage you to check out his quote which is in my signature. He encourage folks to look for the lease from government and to build and promote from within as it is the only way to sustain longevity. Funny enough we have gotten away from this and we see the results. We are sitting and waiting on the government to solve our problems and it isn't delivering results. They are there to assist no to solve the problems of the day.
Just my two cents,--
