Re: [WardFive] In Ward 5 --- At-Large Candidate Debate_Adding

Good Morning Everyone,

Maybe we will have a re-emergence of Jim "Crow" Turner who will help guide the election with his "Black Man" imput - I haven't heard from this White "Black" Man Lately.  Or Maybe Don Padou will come out under another name and give us guidance again.

This is local politics, why can't people ask their own questions or even just put them forth to be asked without being censored.  I told you these two are cancerous.  I am willing to bet they stay up at night just plotting to see how divided they could keep folks in this neighborhood.  I am still waiting for Don and Abigail to tell the reason that after 2.5 years of no issues from the Cafe why they continued to protest the initial liquor license, took ABRA to the Court of Appeals twice and why they protested the outdoor seating/expansion based on parking but didn't protest Manomale who has ZERO PARKING!!!

One White owned establishment one Black owned Establishment - both almost equidistant from their house.  One would think that if thier concern was so deep against Liquor Lic. affecting the community, then Manomale would at least get a tiny taste of all the Hateful Racist and Prejudice that was showered upon the Cafe!!  If I was the Black Candidates, I wouldn't show up.

Just a thought from the "TROLL"!!

I don't whine.  I take action.  Setting up a forum is something we can definitely do.  Thanks for the extra thrust!!

Hazel, it's time that you and the other women of ward 5 get together along with the League of Women Voters and the Woman's National Democratic Club sponsor a debate broadcasted over the radio from Trinity College or the new DC Community College or the award winning high school McKinley Tech. Stop whining. Some... just don't play fair and have no intentions of doing you justice, so please move on.

There are many residents in Ward 5 wanting more about the November 6 line up of candidates and many who wish to support the Democrats.
I'll assist in any way that is possible. Anita

It would seem to me that in a debate held in a ward that is predominantly African-American should have some journalist on the panel who reflect the Ward.  Why can't you add Denise Rolark Barnes, Deborah Simmons or another African American journalist to add a balanced perspective.

I had a similar reaction regarding the diversity of the panel. The debate was raised to my attention a few weeks ago. By that time it was considered a done deal. I wanted to get this out to everyone so folk can take advantage of the opportunity to send in early suggested debate topics and questions. No guarantee as to which ones will be selected. ---- Original message ---- >Date: Tue, 18 Sep 2012 14:56:12 -0700 (PDT) >From: Gigi Ransom <gigifor5c12@yahoo.com> >Subject: [ward5] Re: [WardFive] In Ward 5 --- At-Large Candidate Debate_Adding >To: "wardfive@googlegroups.com" <wardfive@googlegroups.com>, Ward5 <ward5@yahoogroups.com>, Brookland Heartbeat <brooklandheartbeat@yahoo.com> > > > > I'm sure Deborah Simmons, a W5 residents could make > herself available to participate . > > "Let there be Light" > > Albrette "Gigi" Ransom > From: Gigi Ransom <gigifor5c12@yahoo.com> > To: "wardfive@googlegroups.com" > <wardfive@googlegroups.com>; Ward5 > <ward5@yahoogroups.com>; Brookland Heartbeat > <brooklandheartbeat@yahoo.com> > Sent: Tuesday, September 18, 2012 5:54 PM > Subject: Re: [WardFive] In Ward 5 --- At-Large > Candidate Debate > Appreciate the W5 Heartbeat taking the lead on > holding candidate forum, however, since there was > such a large, diverse turnout at the W5 CM Special > Election it would be nice to have diversity amongst > the questioners.
