Hi LAKS friends,

The Dickerson whitewater course is a pushy, class III run located at the GenOn power plant in Dickerson, MD.  This is a great place to prepare for river trips and keep your skills polished during the winter!  The course is maintained by Potomac Whitewater Racing Center and requires an annual membership.  Each year, however, LAKS & PWRC hold an Open House to introduce new paddlers to the course, without the annual fee.  I hope you can join us this year!

When

Nov 3, 2012 

Session I: 9:15 at the gate (10-12 paddling)

Session II: 11:45 at the gate (12:30-2:30 paddling)

Session III: 2:15 at the gate  (3-5 paddling)

Who

Paddlers should have class III whitewater experience and a fairly reliable combat roll.  Instruction will be provided by volunteers from the LAKS staff.  There will be a 5:1 ratio student to instructor.  

Cost

$25 per session.  All proceeds benefit the PWRC which provides development, coaching and organizes races for area slalom paddlers.  Hot drinks and light food will be provided and included in the fee.

How to register

Sign up on the PWRC website.  Sessions are limited!  Payment is possible through PayPal.  Please do not try to register or pay through Liquid Adventures. 

2013 Membership

Cards will be issued beginning November 1st for the 2013 year. This membership will last through Dec 31, 2013.  Info is available at the PWRC website or in person at the Open House.   

Volunteers

LAKS can use assistance with food prep, parking and instruction (must be an ACA certified instructor).  Please contact the office if you want to help out!
