Is this more of the show?  The hearing seems like a waste of time.  We know all the elected leaders are going to stand behind the chancellor, make it look like they're giving her a tough time, then pat her on the back and see how many more traditional schools can be closed.  Elections are next year.  The closings are done way ahead of time so as not to interfere with 2014 elections.  Hopefully children will get a spectacular education no matter what.  Those that don't know how to lobby right or have the right people behind them will lose.  Now residents need to focus on what to do with the closed neighborhood schools.
