This morning Tom and I checked out the situation at Locks 5, 6 and Anglers. The parking area at Lock 5 is blocked by concrete barricades. The parking area to Lock 6 is blocked by sawhorse barriers on either side. I did see some bikers move them to park there. There is also an orange plastic barrier fence stapled to the bridge at Lock 6 to prevent passing. It is possible for a person with a boat to slip through:) Anglers parking lot is blocked off at the new building and beyond. Parking still remains in the middle lot on the outside of the building and there were people using it.
We are canceling Open Practice for tonight as a result of the government shutting down the National Parks. The Commando Unit is scheduled to run tonight and that will still be held. We are considering other access point to the river and, at this time, are still on for After school paddling and the Chutes Workout on Thursday as well as beginner classes this weekend. The Dickerson Workout and Gauley Training should not be affected by this.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Ill keep you updated on anything I find out.
Thanks!
Ashley McEwan
