D.C. drivers take note: eight new traffic cameras are in place in new locations around the city, and they're up and running as of November 3, 2014.
Six of them are speed cameras that are located on roads with 25 mph speed limits. The other two cameras are tracking whether or not drivers stop at stop signs.
Here are the locations of all eight cameras:
Speed cameras (all in 25 mph zones)
600 block of Maryland Ave. NE (southwest bound lanes)
3600 block of Park Pl. NW (southwest bound lanes)
2600 block of Lincoln Rd. NE (northbound lanes)
3100 block of 4th St. NE (northbound lanes)
3100 block of 4th St. NE (southbound lanes)
4000 block of 12th St. NE (northeast bound lanes)
Traffic cameras (stop signs)
Fessenden St. at 44th St. NW (eastbound lanes)
N. Capitol St. NE at Chillum (southwest bound lanes)
For the first 30 days the cameras are active (starting November 3), violators will get a warning. After that, the fines will kick in.
