DPW Live Chat On Gardening, Thurs., April 30, Noon-1pm
Are you trying to design a great garden this spring but have some questions? Perhaps you have a small yard and need help selecting plants that will look best in that space. Need to know what plants work best in yards with little or too much sunlight? Looking for the best way to keep damaging elements like bugs, animals and blossom rot at bay? Or, perhaps you and your neighbors are starting or maintaining a community garden and you want to make sure that this year you yield the best produce ever?
Get answers to all of these questions and more by joining the DC Department of Public Works (DPW) Helping Hand Program’s online chat Thursday, April 30 at noon, featuring Frager’s Hardware gardening manager Byron Gwinn. Gwinn specializes in home consultations and helping customers plan out gardens will answer as many of your questions as he can tomorrow for one hour.
DPW’s Helping Hand Program helps community groups organize neighborhood clean-up and community garden projects by lending tools, trash bags, and providing free compost.
To participate in the session once it has begun, place dpw.dc.gov/livechat into the search browser or visit www.dpw.dc.gov and select the “Live Chat” icon up at the top of DPW’s homepage. Transcripts of all chat sessions can be reviewed after the session by following these same instructions.
