Subject: Monday! WPFW Airs Full Hour on DC Statehood History!
Please tune in for a special WPFW program on the History of the DC Statehood Movement! The program is designed to address the fact that many DC residents, both long-time and new do not know the origins of the movement to obtain full citizenship rights for the disenfranchised/colonized residents of the nation's capital. WPFW will present an information-packed hour long "teach-in" about the movement to demand those rights.
Please listen and learn from those who were here and involved:
Guests are: Sam Smith - Long-time DC Historian and Statehood activist; Frank Smith - Former Councilmember, Civil Rights (SNCC) and Founder of the African American Civil War Museum; Michelle Tingling-Clemmons - Member of the Original DC Statehood Party and Health activist; and Sam Jordan - Former Chair of the DC Statehood Party.
Guest Hosts - Charles (Chuck) Hicks - DC Black History Celebration Committee and Anise Jenkins - Stand Up! for Democracy in DC (Free DC)
When: Monday, April 20, 2015 - 10 am - 11 am
Where: "To Heal DC" WPFW program
WPFW - 89.3 FM on the radio dial; www.wpfw.org on-line
On-The-Air Studio: (202) 588-0893 (call in number if there is time for calls)
We encourage you to take this opportunity - Information Will Empower You!!!!
