[WardFive] Re: [ward5] Grosso's Community Passes

This has nothing to do with Grosso -- it could be Kenyan and the rest.

So, Why do people have to go all the way downtown to get these passes.  Instead of using this for a "political stunt",  why not have the passes available to the community on those days -- it the intent is to be for the community.

1.  Pick up day of at MCI center, so that it saves folks time.
2.  Be available at Stores in Neighborhood

I never understood passes going to CM's offices -- they should be a certain amount allotted to the community on a 1st come, 1st service basis.  Maybe we should evolve to:

Why don't they give this opportunity to folks on Public Assistance first? (not that I don't enjoy and made use of an $8 ticket before)
Why doesn't some of Jack Evans's Constituency funds pay for these tickets instead of Ball Park tickets behind home plate.
Why don't they hold a fundraiser or ask residents to contribute to ticket purchases for kids on Public Assistance?

At some point in time, I hope that our CM's hire some people who are critical thinkers with the compassion for addressing the issues not marketing their agendas.

Councilmember Grosso would like to offer you special community passes for Ringling Brothers/Barnum & Bailey Presents: "Dragons" at the Verizon Center. "For the first time in circus history, myth and majesty will share the arena during this must-see family event that can only be witnessed at The Greatest Show On Earth," Ringling Brothers said.
With these passes, tickets that normally cost $15, $20 and $30 are $8 on Thursday, March 21st and $10 on Friday and Sunday, March 22nd and 24th.
