cheat_training_group Faster! Faster!

It was interesting to see Tom doing some speed work with the fast group on Saturday's Sandy-to-Sycamore run.. Generally accepted practice these days suggests that if you want to go faster, you need to train faster --- even for distance events. I think Cheat racers will be pleasantly surprised by the impact from adding some sprints and intervals into your training regimen.

Incidentally...if you are interested, as I am, in keeping up with thinking and research on athletic performance, there is a new blog by Ron Lugbill that will be worth your perusal. Yep, he's the brother of the very famous Jon Lugbill and an accomplished paddler in his own right. (If you don't know Jon Lugbill, look him up. Now. I'll wait. See, wasn't that worth it?)

Ron obviously follows the science of performance closely, providing links and commentary on what he finds in this blog. He pulls from many disciplines, but always tries to make a connection back to paddle sport. I believe even those of you who are not really into the racing part will find some items of interest. And I always enjoy the photos that herald a new post. (Yes, I'm a slalom slut. :-)

Enjoy!
JOHN
