[WardFive] DCDSC election and event announcements

I hope everyone is doing well.

Today, 50 years ago, our 35th President, John F. Kennedy, was assassinated in Dallas Texas.  I wasn't around then, so I can only imagine through the recollection of history what the country, and the world, went through.  A very telling moment of this most somber episode in American history was exhibited when Boston Symphony Orchestra Conductor, Erich Leinsdorf, announces the sad news to an audience.  Immediately after the announcement, the Conductor changes scheduled program to play Beethoven's "Eroica" funeral march.  You can listen to his announcement and the audience's reaction at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVNKNz-lc6k

In other news, please read below announcement of the DC Democratic State Committee's (DCDSC) April 1, 2014 elections.  I am also enclosing the Board of Election's announcement, which details process to run for a seat on the DC Democratic State Committee.

Lastly, I am including a few events coming up for you to put on your agenda.  They are also listed at: http://dcireporter.com/community-events.  Please send me listing (s) of any future events for the general public, particularly Holiday events, and I will list (post) them on: http://dcireporter.com/community-events   This will be beneficial for all, including the many people trying to collect signatures during these cold days.

Thank you.

Franklin Garcia
Corresponding Secretary, DC Democratic State Committee
