DCPS Budget Hearing:
Purpose: The D.C. Public Schools (DCPS) Budget Hearing is a legislatively mandated annual event. This hearing is designed as an opportunity to engage the community for meaningful insights and feedback for the FY15 budget process. DCPS Chancellor Kaya Henderson and the DCPS budget team will use this opportunity to listen to members of the community. Community members should expect the Chancellor and budget team to focus on broad issues that might effect the FY15 budget development. In-depth discussions about the budget will be reserved for later in the budget building process and during Local School Advisory Team (LSAT) meetings with principals.
About the Ward Five Council on Education
The Ward Five Council on Education is a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to improving the quality of education in Ward 5. The Council provides a forum for community stakeholders to share and resolve issues surrounding Ward 5 schools and works closely with the District of Columbia's education community to ensure that the quality of public schools – both traditional and charter – is exactly what Ward 5 students, parents, and the community at large deserve.
