Re: cheat_training_group Saturday Cheat predictions?

So many options for tomorrow!  Tom will wait to make the call as it gets closer.  We can all predict, but it is best to wait until the rain actually comes, and the gauges all rise or fall and he can make the best choice for the group.  I know he's talking with some of the instructors and they are weighing in on what will be best.

On another note, don't forget about creekin' on Sunday!  You get three of the best instructors to lead you down a class IV creek, Tom, Sandrine and Todd!  There are still 2 openings, register now to guarantee a spot, or if you are on the fence, and want to wait to see what they are paddling, as long as someone doesn't beat you to it (limit of 5 students) you can always register on Saturday.

It's going to be a great weekend!

Albright has a Flash Flood Warning until 2pm today as do three counties that feed directly into the Cheat watershed. My guess is that it 9.5 feet at put in time in the morning.

Rowlesburg dropped 2 feet in 24 hrs.  Current cheat prediction by keelhaulers guage is 8.2 feet on the Cheat at 2 am tonight.  At current rate at most it could drop just under another foot to 7.4 feet by put on tomorrow at noon and that's without rain…so the real question for Tom is - what are we running tomorrow (please don't say the dry fork!)?

Kitzmiller is at lower runnable, maybe will rise by tomorrow?  LY at nearly 6 feet…

Subject: cheat_training_group Saturday Cheat predictions?

Rain this week sent the Albright gauge up to 20.07 this evening (that's 10 ft at the bridge!).  Parsons peaked a few hours ago and is starting down.... but more rain is predicted tonight and tomorrow.

Best guesses for Saturday?

Also, I know the general rule of thumb is 16 hours from Parsons to Albright, but the peak last Saturday evening had only about a 6 hour spread between the two gauges.  Seeing the same thing now as Albright looks to be leveling off.
