There are more 'furthermore's' than I'm able to go through here...  I appreciate that it is NRG management that's defining the terms where they are comfortable in letting us on their property.  At this point, I'm grateful NRG's turned around to want to foster a better relationship with us by keeping their gate open to the greater kayaking community.  Dickerson is a venerable kayak institution in our area. I'm thankful to PWRC which created it years ago, and has continued to use and maintain it as a training course for slalom racing.  

This has made it possible to have challenging water, a relatively short and pleasant drive from home, and still have time left in my day. This year is looking to be a better summer for me. 

I want to thank all who've worked hard to help keep Dickerson open to us.

I would like to point out that there are many benefits to joining the ACA besides being able to get into Dickeron.  Here is a link https://aca.site-ym.com/?page=Individual_Benefits.  An introductory membership is only $15, an individual membership is $40, and a family membership is $60.  I would much rather make few dollar donation to a great organization like the ACA and be insured by them than to not be able to go to Dickerson.

That is just my 2 cents.  Take it for what is is worth.

That was my question as well. The fees for accessing Dickersons are getting out of control, requiring membership to two organizations and paying more every time we come. I hope this redundant membership issue can be resolved, perhaps by only requiring ACA membership.

Dana Chladek has been working hard to reinstate access to Dickerson and has been making some good progress.  It looks like rec boaters (such as ourselves) will be able to use the course when generating provided we are ACA members and thereby covered under their insurance.  

We will need to continue registering and paddling through PWRC, not through Liquid Adventures.  It also looks like we will only be able to join PWRC a couple times per year.  Please read the attached letter from Dana.  The other attachment is a minor waiver that will need to be signed and notarized once per year.

I'll keep you posted with any new information that I get about it.  I hope we will be able to use Dickerson in the upcoming weeks.
