[WardFive] Re: [ward5] Re: Ward 5 Council on Education Meeting Tuesday

Mrs. Winston,

I was only being specific to the Public School vs. Charter School advantages and disadvantages.  I didn't get that from what you wrote and I suggest that discussion is a singular focus of a public meeting.  I don't think that most of us know the full picture and we need to be properly armed if we are to make the best decisions for our kids moving forward.  By now, you should know that I could care less if you or Debbie Smith or the lady on the moon gets this meeting together, so long it is done.

From reading your involvement, it seems like you are fully engaged and I applaud anyone who lifts as much as a feather for children.  Seems like you are lifting a ton of feathers!!  As you should remember, I was at the Luke Seymore meeting and supported our cause against the crap they were serving.

Unless I misunderstand what just occurred with your elections, I am going to support Debbie Smith by asking that the next one be public.  Knowing what I believe is a Brilliant and dedicated person residing in Faith and from your reported resume, maybe next time you will change the "hiding slate" that just occurred.  We cannot expect to hold the CM's and other Officials in our City to a different standard if we ourselves are doing what just occurred with your last election - unless it is supposed to be private!  Let's not do what the Old Guard often likes to do - Control Elections - if that was the case here!

That being said, without question I am available to help with solving the education issues that our kids face.  Keep up the great work and with Mary M at your side, you can't go wrong!!  She is extremely bright and dedicated as well.

Rob,

W5COE is already doing that. In a previous message in this thread I invited everyone to come out and help the W5COE with the community conversation we were planning with the deputy mayor of Education's office. We are definitely looking for volunteers to help with the planning.
