On June 12, 2012, the Mayor transmitted to the Council for approval a proposed contract with Dean-Facchina, LLC, to complete the H Street / Benning Road streetcar line (CA 19-348). The Council's 10-day contract review period would have been completed yesterday, June 24, 2012.
On June 15, 2012, Councilmember Barry filed a resolution (PR 19-776) to disapprove this contract, which extended the Council's review period from 10 to 45 days. On June 20, 2012, we filed a resolution (PR 19-787) to approve the contract and asked Chairman Mendelson to agendize this resolution for consideration at the June 26, 2012, Additional Legislative Meeting.
On Friday, Councilmember Barry withdrew his disapproval resolution. We now write to withdraw our approval resolution (PR 19-787).[1] Consequently, this contact will be approved by the Council today.
