Today's guests on Str8Talk, No Chaser Internet Radio are:
Commissioner Tony Richardson, 6C05, who will discuss the development of H Street NE, which today is celebrating with their H Street Festival;
Commissioner Ronnie Edwards, 5C11 and Chairman ANC5C who will be discussing the Wed, 9/19/12 DC Council's Public Oversight Roundtable on the McMillan Sand Filtration Site development, the status of the approved DC Medical Marijuana Dispensary in SMD 5C01, continued economic development in the North Capitol Street corridor, other ANC 5C matters and 5C's position on the proposed leasing of Bolt Bus of the historic Crummell School for a bus depot (ANC 5B).
Chairpersons Janae Grant (ANC 5A) and Jacqueline Manning (ANC 5B) were also invited. Chair Grant was not able to attend, never heard back from Chair Manning.
Attorney Johnny Barnes and Parisa Norouzi, Director, EmpowerDC, who will discuss the Empower DC lawsuit against the city to preserve this historic site, but more importantly to assure that for all DC public property the city must meet the requirement of ANC "great weight". The outcome of this court case will have far-reaching implications in future development projects if the "great weight" requirement is not held up by the court: and,
Ward 5 State School Board Representative Mark Jones.
Hope you are able to tune in, 4:00pm-6:00pm. We may go beyond this timeline depending on the depth of the discussions.
