The DME and DCPS -- as well as the Mayor and the Council Chair and
members of the Education Committee -- were offered an opportunity to
respond to points in the DC Fiscal Policy Institute report and related
issues re: efficacy of school closings in advance of last week's
Education Town Hall. The DME's response apparently got lost, and so here
it is now, FYI and for discussion on tomorrow's Town Hall.

My guess is that these replies will spawn a host of other questions....
including, e.g., just how the mayor plans to coordinate traditional and
charter schools himself.
