So -- how about we use this pre-school attendence to increase the number of enrolled students at schools to keep them from closing.
Let' say that preschool center are opened first at schools which are scheduled close and then throughout the school system starting in all the lowest performing/proficient areas.
And Daycares need to have a monitored curricullum.

Catania... well, he's there to stay I suppose.
Mendelson wont do nothing either cause he is NOT affected...none of the Ward 3 school are. Even though they are overcrowded they WILL not force-move them to lesser filled schools.

Tony
Again I have sat with Kwame and Catania reading to our kids. Further Michael, Kwame and Fenty's kids were all part of that system as well as Phil Mandelson's daughter.

Correct --> DC Council is apathetic to the issue. I haven't seen any actions taken by DC gov't to negate this observation!!!

Eric J.- I didn't undersand the first part of your response. I think what Tony is trying to refute is the notion that there is this huge surge in enrollment at the PreK level. The fact of the matter is that while there is a surge in enrollment, it is by non-DC residents who illegally/illicitly enroll their kids in DC schools because their public school system doesn't have a similar offering.
As to Tony's editorializing - while he may be wrong on some of these facts (I have no idea what these folks do with their kids and don't care), I think his point is that DC Council is apathetic to the issue. I haven't seen any actions taken by DC gov't to negate this observation.
Tony - sound about right or am I misreading you?
