I was watching the video of your testimony with Vincent Orange on the 12th regarding Small business.  I thought that your comments were pretty good.  The one thing that I didn't understand was why what you wanted implemented was somewhat different than what Vincent Orange wanted that kept you "not far apart".

 

Also, can you give us a little more insight and your thoughts to Cheh's amendment regarding including NPO's as part of this legislation.

 

I know that I "chase" you around some on the listserv, but I wanted to take a minute and share in with as well with others what you do well, as well and also highlight how items are brought to the Council that may help legislation be more inclusive but gets ignored -- it that is what the end result will be.  Maybe a post of the Legislation and your testimony would be good.

I am very proud to announce thatthe National  Committeeman Vincent Orange, At-Large Councilmember and a coalition of Councilmembers introduced legislation tonight that would authorize the Board of Elections and Ethics (DCBOEE) to conduct Election of State Committee Members during the Special Election scheduled for April 2012. He called me tonight to say that the legislation passed by the Council.  

This is indeed a major milestone and a significant victory for the Democratic Party.

Hats off to Vincent Orange and the DC Council.  This is another major example of the importance of our work and a true testament to the importance of having Committee members serving on the Council.
