Since Mr. Peloquin wants to discuss truth I let us talk about truth.

First let us discuss Mr. Peloquin who has decided to try to carry the water for Mr. Ransom because he has shown an inability to do so.

First Mr. Peloquin is the same person who has falsely stated on this and other mediums including his blog false information in hopes of garnering attention to him and what he calls his cause. First It was Mr. Jerry Peloquin who as the Executive Director of the so called National Capital Jobs Coalition which has to this point provided no documented information about their actual existence has on several occasions testified before the council. According to the city's laws because this is not a chartered civic/citizens association he would have been considered a lobbyist. It was him who I met three years ago in the Wilson Building in Room 412 along with a lady who introduced herself as a staffer and gave me her business card. Yet when I questioned him about it he denied the fact that this was anything more than a group of folks coming together for a discussion.

Further it was also Mr. Peloquin who a year and a half ago stated false information about me, the organization I work for and legislative issues before the council which he has and continues to try to take credit for not only helping to draft but also convincing legislators to pass. Each and every time once I have provided factual documentation showing that his statements were false he quietly fell into the background. Now he has decided again to try to paint me via this medium as someone who is nothing more than a hired gun who only works in this community because of my profession.

Well sir let us look at the facts. While you were out beating your drum (literally) I wasn't getting paid for items such as leading the DC Young Democrats to be the first political based organization in the city outside of the Gertrude Stein Democrats to endorse Marriage Equality. It wasn't my job that lead me back in 2005 & 2006 to spend Saturday's in the John A. Wilson Building testifying to the importance of vocational education in this city as I wasn't at that point lobbying. It wasn't my job that had me over at RFK Stadium back in 2005 (because at that point I wasn't a lobbyist) protesting with dozens of local workers and companies who had been locked out of working on the Baseball Stadium Project because of the Project Labor Agreement (PLA) which was orchestrated by Robert Bobb and supported by many who you now stand with including individuals who represent the workers and the company which laid nooses on the tables in the lunch room to intimidate black employees. It wasn't my job that had me standing with my neighbors and others from this ward four – five years ago as we walked the Wilson Building protesting the over saturation of adult themed clubs in one neighborhood in our ward and this list can go on.

You see the issue with you is that while you have been beating your drum you haven't been out in this community. Yet you decided one day that you wanted to help start a group which has done things such as protest and state that the Contractors on the 11^th street bridge project were breaking the law by not hiring local residents in accordance to First Source even though (as the city admitted and the federal government informed them during the hearing) that because that was a project which had federal funding that it was/is illegal to have local hiring preferences as the federal government doesn't allow them because they violate they restrict inner state commerce and violate the Commerce Clause of the Constitution.

Secondly, as to your assertion of Mr. Ransom's work over at Langston Golf Course and his work through his affiliation with Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated sir you don't know of my knowledge of his work with either program. Further you don't know my involvement with the multiple young men I mentor or the work I do through any of the organizations which I am part of. Honestly all you know of me is what you have heard from Mr. Ransom through second hand channels or what you have tried to put together by my profession.

It is dishonest for you to try to come on this or any other medium and try to follow up with Mr. Ransom and need I say very cowardly. From this point forward much like I have asked Mr. Ransom to do, please keep my name out of your mouth, off your keyboard and out of your emails.

Once more I rise to address issues raised by Mr. Jones.

If, one compares the paid activities of a registered lobbyist with the efforts of a citizen, one must understand that the lobbyist is essentially a "bag man," for special interests. He delivers direction and sometimes even pre drafted legislation to elected officials along with targeted campaign contributions (an illegal act in most countries) designed to unfairly prejudice and influence them in favor of the cause that pays the lobbyist. Mr. Jones is paid by his employers to sit in City Council to monitor their investment and to assure their contributions are being honored by their sponsored councilmen. Mr. Jones then uses that time to portray himself as a blogger, a disinterested public activist when, in point of fact he is doing his employer's bidding and using the time to blog on the side.

I have no knowledge of any wrong doing on the part of Mr. Jones. He is within his rights under the law to gain employment wherever he wishes. Being a lobbyist is not illegal. However, I question the ethical basis for lobbing and I think many in this country rightly find the whole affair unseemly. If one sees the great Speilberg movie "LINCOLN," you will see the birth of the "lobbyist." It has not changed much.

Mr. Ramson, on the other hand, spends untold hours of his time and, yes his personal funds without expectation of any reward. He does this in support of our city's children at Langston, through his Fraternity, and in his help of dozens of local people who fall on hard times. There is no comparison between the two. Mr Eric Jones is a paid political operative and Rob Ramson is an engaged citizen activist.
