[WardFive] W5COE Quality Education Proposal

Hello Ward 5!

On behalf of the Ward Five Council on Education, I would like to thank each and every one of you for your efforts in regards to your response and participation surrounding DCPS's School Consolidation Proposal.  In response to DCPS's proposal, the W5COE -- in conjunction with community stakeholders, school and parent representatives –  submitted a counter proposal to DCPS on Monday, December 11, 2012.  Following our submittal, we were also able to meet with the Chancellor and discuss our recommendations and position more in depth.  Our time with the Chancellor and her leadership team was informative and on the whole a good meeting, but we will wait and see what the final outcome will be.  One way or the other, we, the W5COE, look forward to continuing to work closely with the community to ensure that our students get the quality education that they deserve.  It is our job to continue to hold DCPS accountable in those efforts.

If you have any questions, concerns or comments please feel free to contact me directly at fg1913@gmail.com, or our W5COE email address at ward5coe@gmail.com.

Again, thank you and Happy Holidays!

Best,

Faith
