| The decision to have Dr. Slade serve as Interim Principal for Woodson during this challenging time for Mr. Jackson will adversely affect the school moving forward. At a meeting held on July 29th parents, staff, and community members made clear their objections to this appointment- interim, acting, or otherwise. DCPS continues to move forward over written and stated objections. This is an opportunity for DCPS to demonstrate commitment to community engagement in Ward 7 and the Woodson STEM program and culture. Please support HD Woodson by installing an interim leader we can continue to rally behind. In your response to our concerns on August 1st, you stated being "fully aware of the anxiety and as a team we will work together to ensure collaboration and fairness." Work with us to establish interim leadership that has been HD tested and community approved. Until Mr. Jackson returns, his existing leadership team must be allowed to continue making strides for our children. |
