[WardFive] Re: [ward5] Fwd: [WACKappa] FW: Grosso Mourns the Passing of James Bunn

With a heavy heart upon hearing this news, I send the deepest sympathies to Sheila & Family in the passing of a truly great spirit of a man in Mr. James Bunn.

Since our first meeting many years ago, I've had the highest respect and regard for Mr. Bunn.  He was truly one of commitment and dedication to his family, Ward 8 and the city-at-large which he truly loved. Those who knew or heard of Mr. Bunn, whether up close and personal, from a distance, or just interacting to uplift or speak out for those who couldn't for themselves, there was no denying that this man and his actions were centered in and from Divine Love and Faith.  Mr. Bunn was a man of great integrity, strength, vision, peace, wisdom, love and self-respect that could not be denied. Like EF Hutton, when Mr. Bunn spoke, people listened!

I will always remember the Light and Love of mankind that always shown through his eyes.  Mr. Bunn's Light will no longer be with us in human form, but will always be brightly shining in and through Spirit to those who call upon their memory of him to be uplifted to make the challenge before them more understandable and manageable to overcome, and throughout this great city that he loved and cared about.

Thank you Mr. Bunn! Sending Love, Peace and Light as you transition through the Gates of Heaven into welcoming, open arms for a life and job well done!

I'm very sad to pass this along, but I know that many in the ward were connected to Mr. Bunn and/or his family.  This is truly a sad day in DC.  Mr. Bunn was truly a man of the people and his love for the city's East End was second to none.  Between him and the late William Lockridge they taught me so much about this city, especially the East End (East of the River).  He will truly be missed.

Grosso Mourns the Passing of James Bunn

Councilmember David Grosso (I-At Large) was saddened to learn of the passing of Mr. James Bunn and issued the following statement:

"The District of Columbia and the Ward 8 community have lost a great man today. His legacy will live on forever. Mr. Bunn, chairman of the Congress Heights Main Streets Organization, among many other civic titles, was known for his active involvement in the Ward 8 community. His voice in the community and advocacy work has helped to spur economic development and lift the civic discourse. Not only was Mr. Bunn active in Ward 8, but he was also a devoted husband and family man. He paved the way for many to follow in his footsteps and his daughter, and my good friend, Sheila Bunn, is a true tribute to his lifelong work. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Bunn's family at this time. He will truly be missed."
