Jeff --
Getting back to your request that Jerry and I weigh in on this, here it is
After reading all the Gurus and their thought processes about Grosso's win, it was interesting that no one looked at it from the angle:
---What if Grosso was Black??
---How would this changed who Whites voted for?
When doing your re-calculation, I want you to remember, Grosso has had no history of doing anything in the community that we know of - at least not in Ward 5.
He - like so many others who ran for Ward 5 CM position don't speak up on anything or don't stand on anything but all of a sudden during election times, they care about education, seniors, community, etc.!!! Now, I don't have any issues with Grosso and like he and I spoke, his chances were pretty good considering how the votes would fall. The fact that Michael had some "issues", definitely helped but:
Do you really think that Whites would have voted for Grosso if he was Black and had the lack of a community record that he did?
Let's Be Real. Maybe Kenyan can put forth some legislation that prohibits sitting CM's from endorsing candidates so that they don't get to build their coalitions for their personal and "professional" gain.
